USS Dewey

While returning from Catalina on our last trip, we crossed paths with this warship. The USS Dewey was on her way to Seal Beach to be commissioned so that she could join the Navy's active fleet. The Dewey is a one billion dollar ship and is the Navy's newest guided-missile destroyer. The Admiral got on our radio with the Dewey to make sure they saw us and they confirmed that all was well.

Seeing this ship up close and personal was awesome. This ship was only 1 of 4 (2 freighter's and a sail boat) that we saw the entire wild crossing from Avalon to Dana Point. Hmmmmm..........I wonder why. In any case I salute the USS Dewey and the brave men and women of our military that will serve on her. God Bless America!!!
