THE CAPTAIN'S BIRTHDAY WEEK

Birthday wishes came in from literally around the world, i.e., South Africa, Baja Sur Mexico, the Netherlands, and from here in the states New Hampshire, Utah, Hawaii, Arizona, Oregon, Tennessee, Florida, Massachusetts and California. A big THANK YOU to all the well-wishers and to the Admiral who made this 71st extra special.

We spent the week in Big Geiger Cove where we swam, snorkeled, hiked, fished, and just plain relaxed. And the crew from Tranquilo (five young'uns and two dads) even sang a "Happy Birthday" to me the morning of my birthday. The entire week was amazing and the ultimate treat.

The Admiral and love of my life.

A DAY WITH THE CHAMPIONS

Yesterday was a day to celebrate and renew old friendships that go back a long way. The 1977 DHHS Baseball South Coast League Champions gathered on Serenity Now at the anchorage in the harbor for an afternoon of stories, laughs and recollections of good times. PLUS, two members of the '77 crew, Coach "Z" and Coach Romero, just won the 2018 Division I CIF Baseball crown for Capo Valley. Congrats boys! It truly was a wonderful day with champions.

ADMIRAL & CAPT DO A POD CAST

It's 18 minutes long, about King's Canyon, but make sure you don't miss the end. Enjoy!

THE SIERRA CALLS

Nothing can match the smell of sizzling bacon and a camp fire to start your day, especially when it's in one of our most favorite places in the world, Cedar Grove in King's Canyon. The south fork of the King's River runs along one side of the camp area so there's the continual soothing sound of rushing water 24/7. Mix in an occasional black bear sighting, a deer or two, an off-trail rattlesnake and a visit from two OC sailors, and presto, you have the making of a perfect week.
