MORNING SURF, AFTERNOON SAIL

The youngsters hit 204 in the morning and had a great time in the surf. Later they were sailing up the coast past Salt Creek and Aliso Beach with an overcast sky and consistent 10-14 knot breeze. Good surf and good sail = great time.

THE BAJA BASH, "ADIOS" STYLE

Six days and nearly 900 miles later, the Adios is back from Cabo. The Adios is a J120 that just completed and placed third in the BYC Newport to Cabo race. Our mission was to get her home. Wow, what'a ride!
The view leaving Cabo San Lucas, 7 PM Thursday April 5th.

The next morning. This yellowfin tuna was fileted and in the refer within minutes and provided several excellent meals.

During the trip home we made only three brief stops; south of Magdalena Bay for dinner, Turtle Bay for fuel and dinner, and Kelp Island for a quick dip in the ocean.

7 PM April 11th the happy crew disembark in Dana Point.

APRIL 2, 2012

Every day is different on the water. Yesterday the wind was howling; today it was a pleasant 10-11 knots until it died completely. Oh well, there's always tomorrow.

APRIL 1, 2012

Some days it's actually too windy to go out on the water and today was one of them. I've learned, when the the gale warning is flying, stay in port. It was a beautiful day but a bit too windy for this crew.
