We replaced the boats toilet late last year because of intermittent blockages. Recently it malfunctioned again. This shouldn't happen with a new head, unless, ah ha, the blockage is between the toilet and the holding tank. So today I removed the discharge hoses and was amazed at what was found. Thirteen years of build-up had taken its toll.

All looks fine here but why doesn't it work? |

Looks like a clogged artery. That's 13 years of yuck build-up. Both hoses were replaced. |

This valve was completely cleaned out and is better than new. |
