We thought we'd beat the Memorial Day crowd and spent some time at the island the week before. Last Sunday was spent in Avalon before moving to Howland's Landing for three nights. We were pleasantly surprised to run into and old friend from Dana Point, Will Steinriede. Will is working as a director at the Howland's Camp. From there we moved over to Cherry Cove for one night before concluding the trip in Willow Cove. As we were leaving yesterday, the island was filling up. HAVE A GREAT MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND.
Serenity NOW is a 2000 Catalina 36 MK-II designed for coastal cruising. She's berthed in Dana Point, CA and since 2003 has made over 130 passages to Catalina Island, with overnight visits to five of the eight California Channel Islands: Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Anacapa, San Clemente and Catalina. We've overnighted at Isla de Cedros off Baja and have explored the coast from Santa Barbara to the East Cape of Baja Sur, Mexico. She has weighed anchor in excess of 285 times. We've put thousands of miles under her keel. She's an ocean-going maritime mobile home and we love her!
