OFF AGAIN

Two days after returning from Florida, we drove to our most favorite place on the planet, Sequoia and Kings Canyon. At the very end of highway180 sits Cedar Grove and the Sentinel Campground. We were there for opening day and spent eight wonderful nights. If you enjoy hiking, beautiful scenery, fishing, campfires, and relaxing in the great outdoors, you'll like this place. We sure do! 

  

WHAT'A RIDE

We just returned from a fantastic Florida trip; visiting friends, two coasts and everything in between. After landing in Orlando we traveled north to the town of Traveras for the night. Then it was off to Reddick, horse country near Ocala, to visit friends, relax at their horse farm and see the sights. We toured the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, St. Augustine, Tigertown (had dinner with another friend), the Ocala Equestrian Center and spent a few nights in Micanoby at a classic southern, historical B&B. Then it was off to Tampa Bay and spending a night in Sarasota. The next day we were in Ormond Beach to walk the beach and swim in the Atlantic. We learned a great deal about Florida and all it has to offer. It was definitely a two "thumbs up" experience.

    

PONCE DE LEON INLET

On a recent trip to Florida we visited friends in Reddick and Lakeland. While there we explored the lighthouse in Daytona Beach. These make-shift Cuban boats were quite fascinating and ingenious.

Cathryn, John, Bill, capt and the Admiral. John and Billy played and starred on the DHHS championship baseball team in 1974.

  

THE EAST CAPE BANDITOS ARE BACK IN TOWN

Seeking asylum from the confines of La Abundancia, Captain Cabo and Senora Debi made the treacherous journey back to the US sneaking their way across the border at 10,000 feet. The expatriates were quickly escorted back to the Cadiz holding facility. They were rewarded with a day sail for good behavior.

THE CALM BEFORE THE STORM

With several days of rain in the forecast, the Admiral and I did a late afternoon sail. It was sunny with the small craft warning flag flying but our winds stayed around 14-16 knots and it turned out well. 

    Headed back to the barn at the end of the day.

SAILOR JERRY TURNS 80

The old salt checked into his eight decade and is still sailing with the best-of-them. Bravo Zulu mate. Time to splice the mainbrace!
