Don and Debi joined us for a relaxing afternoon sailing the ocean blue. It was a perfect summer day, i.e., warm air, clear sky, no swell, and a consistent 14-20 knot breeze to push us along. Smiles all around!

ISLAND TIME
It was time for the Nesporados to make way to Catalina for our annual adventure. This has been happening since Serenity Now has come into the family nineteen years ago. Ranger Greg flew in from Oregon and Jackpot from Maui to make up the crew. Upon our return to Dana Point, the Admiral along with Sailor Jerry and El Jeffe who are on the DL and missed the cut joined us for pizza and beer.
Our first night we stayed on the front side at Cabrillo Beach near Little Gibraltar. We were the only ones there. Compare that with Avalon Harbor, a couple of miles away, totally packed with summer boaters. No thanks.
The following day it was off to Cat Harbor traveling around the west end of the island. We anchored on the west side of the harbor and had it all to ourselves. Plenty of time for fishing by fly, bait, lures and ball bouncing, swimming and relaxing. We saw turtles, eagles, flying fish and caught bonita, halibut, barracuda, white fish, calico bass, sand dabs and a bat ray. It's a fishy place.
After four great nights in Cat Harbor it was back to Dana Point because Jackpot had a flight to catch the next day. Trip number nineteen is in the books and I'd have to say it was an A+. Aloha!
