The Admiral and I had a wonderful day today celebrating the life and legacy of John Scolinos. It was great to reunite with John's family and friends, past teammates and coaches to recollect our time together.
The Captain played four years at Cal Poly Pomona for this fine man. He "talked the talk and walked the walk". He's a legend that has touched the lives of most that came in contact with him, just ask the Admiral.
Serenity NOW is a 2000 Catalina 36 MK-II designed for coastal cruising. She's berthed in Dana Point, CA and since 2003 has made over 130 passages to Catalina Island, with overnight visits to five of the eight California Channel Islands: Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Anacapa, San Clemente and Catalina. We've overnighted at Isla de Cedros off Baja and have explored the coast from Santa Barbara to the East Cape of Baja Sur, Mexico. She has weighed anchor in excess of 285 times. We've put thousands of miles under her keel. She's an ocean-going maritime mobile home and we love her!
