"BEER RUN" IS IN THE SHOP
I was able to find the leak in Beer Run yesterday under one of the oar locks. Nothing for an amateur to attempt to fix. So today she was hauled to the Dinghy Doc in Santa Ana. Should have it back next week.

CAPT'S B-DAY TRIP
After the Admiral asked, "What do you want to do on your birthday?", we were on our way to the rock. We made the long haul to the Isthmus and stayed in Fourth of July Cove the first evening. The next day it was off to Little Harbor around the scenic west end. A rolly night sent us to Cat Harbor for the next two days. Cat was perfect; lots of fish, eagle sightings, a great anchorage, super hikes, temps in the high 70's and access to the "action" at the Isthmus. Traveling around the east end, our last night was in Avalon but not before a hike and pastrami sandwich at Antonio's. Not a bad way to spend a birthday, and the topper, we saw two blue whales on the return trip to Dana. I am thankful and blessed!

WENT DIVING TODAY
Mystery solved...kelp. Under water. Out of sight. Out of mind. What are the chances of running into this? Wrapped our prop shaft and brought us to a quick stop yesterday. All ended well. No one hurt and boat is fine.

MEMORIAL DAY 2015
Today was a day to pay tribute to all the men and women who served this country and especially those that paid the ultimate price. It was also a time to remember our fathers, Edward Nespor and Robert Riley, two WWII Navy Sea Bee veterans. We're proud of your service, THANK YOU.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
A gentle breeze, calm sea and the warmth from the sun; a perfect Mother's Day afternoon on the water. We are the luckiest people on earth and truly blessed to have had Jackie and Stephanie in our lives. May they rest in peace.

NEWPORT HARBOR
With iffy weather in the forecast, we decided to spend several nights up the coast rather than make the trip to Santa Catalina. The anchorage is east of Lido Isle and we had it to ourselves. During the days we explored the Back Bay and dinghyed to the Fun Zone to take some nice long walks. The first day we made it to The Wedge, the next day to the Newport Pier. I had forgotten how much beach and sand they have there. Except for the summer traffic, that peninsula is a very cool place.
At anchor with Fashion Island in the background.
Our welcoming committee on the way home. They're pretty excited to see us.
The only problem with anchoring in Newport is the cleanup. It's the stickiest mud you'll ever see. Not in the picture is 40 feet of muddy chain.
