ST. CLEMENT'S SAILING TEAM HITS THE HIGH SEAS

While the sun and whales never made their appearance, plenty of dolphins appeared to brighten the day. We enjoyed a super afternoon in 10-14 knot wind off the Dana Point coast. We'll find those whales next time. Hallelujah!

WHALES, WHALES EVERYWHERE

Yesterday, the Admiral and I went out for a comfortable sail in light wind. Quite enjoyable. Once back in the slip, a sailor friend stopped by to give us these whale pics with Serenity Now in the background. He was following the same whales Greg, Amy and I were on our return from Catalina recently. Sure is fun to be on the water.

ABUNDANCIA DE AMIGOS

I don't want to get philosophical here, but what can be better than an afternoon sail in light air off the San Clemente coast, enjoying the playful dolphins and colorful sunset with good friends?

MARINE PLUMBING 101

We replaced the boats toilet late last year because of intermittent blockages. Recently it malfunctioned again. This shouldn't happen with a new head, unless, ah ha, the blockage is between the toilet and the holding tank. So today I removed the discharge hoses and was amazed at what was found. Thirteen years of build-up had taken its toll.

All looks fine here but why doesn't it work?

Looks like a clogged artery. That's 13 years of yuck build-up. Both hoses were replaced.

This valve was completely cleaned out and is better than new.
